Reservoir Monitoring Update

By June 10, 2025

Bottom Line

Storms Continue Through the Weekend – Stay Weather Aware.

Due to saturated soils from recent rainfall events, TRWD lakes are expected to actively respond to additional precipitation. Minimal rainfall was recorded yesterday. However, earlier today, additional rain fell over our East Texas lakes—Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek. These lakes are still reacting to inflows from the Sunday/Monday event, and today’s rainfall may contribute to further inflows.

All four TRWD lakes—Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain, Cedar Creek, and Richland-Chambers—are currently spilling. Our teams are closely monitoring inflows and managing releases to balance water supply needs and flood mitigation.

Projections

  • Bridgeport: A low-level release continues, and no significant rise in lake level is expected at this time.
  • Eagle Mountain: Low-level discharges are ongoing. Lake levels are expected to remain steady with no additional rainfall.
  • Cedar Creek: The lake has reached its peak and the pool is receding. Discharges will be adjusted as needed in response of observed rainfall.
  • Richland-Chambers: Water levels are rising slowly as upstream inflows from Chambers Creek reach the lake. Discharges were increased at 1pm and will continue to be adjusted accordingly to manage the increase.

*Projections are subject to change and are based on past precipitation.

Looking Forward

Additional rounds of storms are expected in the area. The focus tonight and tomorrow should be south and east of the metroplex. From Thursday through Saturday, another wave of storms develops over the western part of the TRWD system. New and renewed minor river flooding is expected due to current soil moisture conditions. See Graphic 1 for guidance from the River Forecast Center.

Next Update:  The next update will be tomorrow. TRWD staff will continue to monitor conditions 24/7 and are available to answer the flood line if there are any questions or concerns.
