Reservoir Monitoring Update

By May 7, 2025

Bottom Line

There has been no additional rainfall in the TRWD reservoir watersheds in the past 12 hours.

Projections

  • Bridgeport: The lake level continues to recede. Spillway discharges were decreased this morning, and additional reductions are anticipated over the next few days.  Additionally, it is anticipated that the lake will reopen to the public today.  Please refer to the TRWD.com home page for the official notice regarding lake reopening.
  • Eagle Mountain: The lake level continues to rise due to local inflows from yesterday’s rain coupled with Bridgeport discharges. The latest projections show a peak level of approximately 650.5 ft-msl on Thursday. Lake Worth should stabilize around 596.4 ft-msl.  No additional increases in discharges are currently anticipated.
  • Cedar Creek: Heavy local rainfall caused the lake level to increase yesterday, and spillway discharges were increased accordingly.  We do not expect the pool level to exceed 322.5 ft-msl.
  • Richland-Chambers:  The lake level is continuing to rise slowly and is not expected to exceed 316.5 ft-msl.  Spillway operations are ongoing.

Looking Forward

There are low rain chances for the rest of the week, with the possibility of isolated to scattered showers and storms on Thursday and Friday.  Depths from these potential showers are expected to be low.  Beyond Friday, conditions are expected to be warmer and drier.  See NWS guidance below in Graphics 1 and 2.

Next Update:  TRWD staff are monitoring conditions 24/7 and are available to answer the flood line if there are any questions or concerns. The next update will be provided tomorrow morning.
