Reservoir Monitoring Update

By May 6, 2025

Bottom Line

Rainfall is moving through the area this morning and expected to continue into the afternoon. See rainfall accumulations from the past 24 hours through 8am in Graphic 1. East Texas watersheds have recorded an average of 0.4 inches. West Fork Trinity watersheds recorded an average of 0.6-0.8 inches. Spillway operations are ongoing at Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain, Cedar Creek, and Richland-Chambers. See current conditions below.

Projections

TRWD staff is working to manage the water on the ground. We do not have updated projections at this time as rainfall is ongoing. We will provide updated projections as soon as able.

Looking Forward

Storms will continue to move west to east across the area. Severe storms are possible through this afternoon. See NWS guidance in Graphic 2. After today, low storm chances continue through Friday, but forecasted depths are low. After this week, the forecast dries out for a bit, with the 6 to 10-day outlook showing below normal precipitation chances. The 8 to 14-day outlook is indicating near normal precipitation chances.

Next Update:  TRWD has staff monitoring conditions 24/7 and is available to answer the flood line if there are any questions or concerns. Next update will come as conditions warrant.
