Inventory Control Clerk

Salary:  $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

 

Location:  Fort Worth, TX

 

 

Position Summary:

Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies and adjust errors. Receive, store, move and pack outgoing materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, unpack, check, store and/or route merchandise and materials
  • Notify material recipients when their order is available for pick-up
  • Assist buyers in the procurement of expedited requests
  • Execute timely, correct posting of all stock transactions
  • Pick-up and deliver merchandise and materials as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels and requisitions stock items as required
  • Assist in the sale of surplus equipment
  • Responsible for keeping the warehouse clean and orderly
  • Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service
  • Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Required Experience:

  • Less than one (1) year

 

Desired Experience:

  • One (1) to two (2) years of inventory and warehouse experience
  • Ability to operate a forklift

 

Required Education/Certification/License:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver’s license

 

Desired Education/Certification/License:

  • Class C Texas Driver License

 

 

Success Factors/Job Competencies:

  • Knowledge of purchasing principles, methods, and practices
  • Knowledge of Texas statutes governing the District’s disposal of surplus property
  • Skilled in written and oral communications and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft software products

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee typically resides within an office or cubicle as well as a warehouse environment and may have occasional field work that will expose the employee to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Equipment used includes forklift, pickup truck, and computer.
