TRWD offering free sprinkler evaluations this fall

By October 7, 2025

With warm temperatures and low chances of rain forecasted for the next few weeks, don’t forget that your lawns can still use a little help from your sprinklers this fall. In fact, most yards continue to grow until late November before they go dormant.

Before you shut down your sprinkler system for the year, don’t forget to sign up for a no-charge residential sprinkler system evaluation. A licensed irrigator will meet with you to walk your property, test all sprinkler zones, look at controller settings, and answer any questions you may have. This is a great way to learn more about your sprinkler system and ways to improve efficiency with the water you use. The end result can be a healthier landscape and savings in your pocket.

Having an evaluation completed during the fall also gives you plenty of time to plan repairs and improvements to your sprinkler system before you need it again in the spring.

This is a free service for Tarrant County residents that provides a comprehensive look at your sprinkler system. A licensed irrigator will inspect your components, the controller and your watering schedule. No repairs, or adjustments will be made during the evaluation, but a full report of findings will be provided to both the homeowner and the city.

To be eligible you must be a resident of a city within Tarrant County, have an in-ground sprinkler system, and the sprinkler system is operational. The evaluation takes about 30 minutes and residents receive a custom report with suggestions for improvements.

The link to sign up for the free evaluation can be found Sprinkler Evaluation – Save Tarrant Water.
