Bottom Line
Recent rain over the weekend was lower than expected, with most areas receiving less than 1 inch. See weekend rainfall map below (Graphic-1). Looking ahead, only light rainfall is expected early in the week, with slightly higher chances toward the end of the week mainly in East Texas. Overall totals are forecast to remain modest. Lake levels across much of the system remain below normal for this time of year. Next update will come as conditions warrant.

Looking Forward
Rain chances will decrease by midweek as warmer, more typical summer conditions return, with temperatures rising into the 90s and heat index values near or above 100 degrees. Later in the week and into the weekend, isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected to redevelop. While widespread heavy rainfall is not expected, brief downpours could still occur with these storms. See NWS Guidance below (Graphic-2).
