Reservoir Monitoring Update

By June 12, 2026

Bottom Line

At this time, all TRWD lakes are below conservation levels and have some room for run off; however, Eagle Mountain Lake is under 1 foot below conservation. Conditions at all TRWD lakes will be closely monitored in the coming days for increases in lake levels requiring spillway operations. Scattered storms are possible this morning into this afternoon. A cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms to much of the area from Sunday to Monday. A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible with a threat for strong downburst wind gusts. See NWS Guidance in Graphic-1 and 2.

Looking Forward

Looking ahead, additional rain is expected in East Texas on Tuesday which can bring the East Texas 10-day totals to about 3 inches. We will continue monitoring conditions.

Graphic-1. Scattered storms are possible from this morning into the afternoon mainly in North Texas, some of which may produce frequent lightning and strong downburst wind gusts. Areas unaffected by thunderstorms will have another hot and humid afternoon with heat index values up to 105 degrees. Take precautions to protect yourself from the heat.

Graphic-2. Rain and thunderstorm chances will increase across North and Central Texas Sunday into Monday as a cold front moves into the area. Some storms could produce strong downburst wind gusts and frequent lightning, along with locally heavy rainfall and flooding. Plan for possible disruptions to outdoor activities due to nearby thunderstorms during this time period.
