Water is essential to everything we do, from turning on the tap at home to supporting businesses and recreation across North Texas. As our region continues to grow, so does the demand for water. That’s why TRWD has updated its Integrated Water Supply Plan (IWSP), a long-term strategy to ensure reliable, affordable water for the next 50 years and beyond.
The IWSP looks at how much water our communities will need in the future, the challenges we might face from drought or population growth, and the best mix of strategies to meet those needs. This includes conservation programs, reuse projects like wetlands, potential new water sources, and partnerships to secure future water.
Most importantly, the plan is about protecting our quality of life. By planning ahead, TRWD can make sure its communities will continue to have access to clean, reliable water.
We want to hear from you. Visit trwd.com to read the IWSP executive summary. The public may submit feedback through the public inquiry form or by attending the September 16, 2025 board meeting. The public comment period ends on September 16, 2025.
