Lake Bridgeport to reopen at noon on May 7; Eagle Mountain nearing closure threshold, boaters urged to use caution

By May 7, 2025

Lake Bridgeport, which has been closed to recreational boating since April 30 because of high waters and safety concerns, will reopen to the public on May 7 at noon.

“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during this closure,” said David Geary, TRWD’s director of reservoir operations. “While safety remains our top priority, we’re excited to welcome the community back to enjoy the lake’s full range of recreational opportunities”.

Lake patrons are encouraged to remain cautious, as some areas may still be impacted by loss of power, loose structures and floating debris.

Eagle Mountain Lake Near Closure Thresholds

Attention Boaters:

While the reservoir is currently not at closure thresholds, water levels are very near. Please exercise extra caution while on the water. Higher water levels bring potential hazards including strong currents, submerged structures and floating debris.

Important Reminder:

Respect private property and minimize shoreline erosion by maintaining a minimum distance of 500 feet from the shoreline when operating at wake-producing speeds. Avoid creating wakes near docks, homes, and other sensitive areas.

Your cooperation helps preserve access for everyone and protects property along the reservoir.

Updates will be provided on the Tarrant Regional Water District website Tarrant Regional Water District and through official social media channels.

Residents who live on or own shoreline property at Eagle Mountain Lake can reach TRWD’s Flood Team at 817-720-4296.

Thank you for boating responsibly.
