Before you water your lawn this Spring, get a free sprinkler system evaluation

By March 18, 2026

Spring is in the air and that means our lawns are starting to grow and turn green. And, with warmer weather on the way, your landscape may need help from your sprinkler system.

Here are a few things you should consider doing before you turn your sprinklers on:

  • Make sure your sprinkler controller is set with the correct day and time and know when to water. Many cities have watering schedules to help manage outdoor water use during the hours of 10 am and 6 pm and on certain days of the week. Check your city or water provider website to be sure.
  • Do a visual check of every zone by running a 2-minute test. Walk around and flag any issues such as broken nozzles and heads spraying the street. Some adjustments and repairs are doable for the handy homeowner but reach out to a licensed irrigator if you need help.
  • If you live in Tarrant County, sign up for a free Residential Sprinkler System Evaluation at SaveTarrantWater.com! We have a team of qualified contractors ready to answer your questions in-person. A licensed irrigator will walk with you through a test of your sprinklers and provide a report of recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce water waste.
  • While you are at it, sign up for free Weekly Watering Advice too! This service provides an email or text message every Monday morning telling you how much water your lawn needs that week. It is based on local weather stations and rainfall data. Learn more at WaterIsAwesome.com.
