Reservoir Monitoring Update

By April 8, 2020

TRWD continues to monitor reservoir conditions 24 hours a day.  Current reservoir conditions are provided below.  Currently, Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain, and Richland-Chambers are making flood discharges.  The Bridgeport spillway will be closed later this morning.  Additional updates to flood discharges will be posted here.

All TRWD lakes (including Marine Creek), trail systems and parks remain open to the public and available for normal recreational activities. However, visitors are subject to all rules, regulations and guidance issued for each specific location either federal, state or local during this period of National Emergency.

No measurable rain in the TRWD watersheds yesterday.   National Weather Service (NWS) guidance for today and tomorrow is shown in Graphic-1.  Unseasonably hot today with a chance at the record high temperature of 93° F at DFW Airport.  There is also a conditional chance for strong/severe storms in the Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek watersheds.  A cold front arrives late tonight bringing with it increased rain chances for tomorrow.  Please continue to follow the NWS and the River Forecast Center (RFC) for the latest information regarding the weather and river conditions, respectively.

Please be advised that forecasts and projections are subject to change, and TRWD reservoir operations are based on observed rainfall conditions.  The next update will come tomorrow morning, unless conditions dictate otherwise.  Please check back.
