Bottom Line

Only light rainfall was seen across the TRWD watersheds yesterday. Heavier rain is expected to return this afternoon, with higher rainfall totals expected near Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers. Conditions will be closely monitored for impacts as daily rainfall chances continues through the weekend.

Looking Forward

  • Heavy rain is possible this afternoon, with most locations receiving 0.5–1″, and isolated areas reaching 2–3″.
  • Daily rain chances persist through the weekend and into the 5 to 10-day outlook.  See NWS Guidance below in Graphic-1 and Graphic-2.
  • TRWD staff will continue to monitor conditions and flood discharges will be adjusted accordingly.

Scattered to widespread showers and storms will move across North and Central Texas during the day Thursday bringing a localized heavy rain and flash flooding threat to parts of the region. Most locations will see 0.5-1″ of rainfall through Thursday night, but a few locations may pick up 2-3″ of rain. If you encounter flooded roadways, Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
