Reservoir Monitoring Update

By May 9, 2025

Bottom Line

Spillway discharges and lake levels are on the way down at all TRWD lakes, and this trend will continue through the weekend.

Flood Stats

Below are a few interesting facts and statistics from the past two weeks.

  • The West Fork Trinity River stream gage at Jacksboro peaked at a stage of 26.2 feet on April 20th. This is the ninth highest stage recorded since measurements began in 1955. The last time it was this high was in April 2016, when it reached 26.5 feet.
  • The average daily inflow to Bridgeport was just over 10,000 cfs for the five-day period beginning on April 30th. This marks the eighth highest five-day inflow in the history of Lake Bridgeport. The record was set in October 1981, when a five-day average inflow of over 26,000 cfs raised the pool level by 30 feet in just five days!

Looking Forward

Scattered showers are possible today.  Things dry out and warm up this weekend, see NWS guidance in Graphic 1 for more details.

Next Update:  Reservoir updates will pause for the weekend and will resume on Monday.  TRWD staff will continue to monitor conditions 24/7 and are available to answer the flood line if there are any questions or concerns.
