Free weekly watering advice sent directly to your email

By April 22, 2026
Spring is upon us and you may have already asked yourself: “How much and when do I need to water my lawn this week?”
We get that question a lot here at Tarrant Regional Water District, but the good news is we have a great solution that sends FREE weekly watering advice directly to your email so you can make informed decisions on when to water and when to give the sprinklers a rest.
Experts say spring watering should focus on consistency rather than quantity. After months of cooler weather and occasional rain, most lawns don’t need daily irrigation. Instead, deep watering one to two times per week encourages stronger root growth and helps grass become more drought-resistant as summer approaches.
Timing also matters. Watering early in the morning reduces evaporation and allows grass to absorb moisture before the heat of the day. Homeowners are also encouraged to watch for signs of overwatering, such as pooling water, spongy turf, or fungus growth.
By adjusting irrigation habits now, you can keep your lawn healthy, conserve water, and avoid higher utility bills later in the season. A little planning in spring can set the stage for a greener, more resilient lawn all year long.
