Reservoir Monitoring Update

By May 16, 2025

Bottom Line

The TRWD lakes are currently full, and there is rain in the forecast for this weekend. We are closely monitoring the weather conditions and will manage inflows and releases at our water supply lakes as needed.

The NWS has indicated that while thunderstorms are expected each afternoon and evening, widespread significant or minor river flooding is not anticipated. The heaviest rainfall is expected to be upstream, and local runoff may occur near stronger thunderstorms, particularly around urban areas in the DFW Metroplex. There could be isolated instances of minor river flooding.  See River Forecast Center guidance below in Graphic 1.

Next Update:  Reservoir updates will be posted as needed over the weekend to provide updates if conditions change. TRWD staff will continue to monitor conditions 24/7 and are available to answer the flood line if there are any questions or concerns.
