Reservoir Monitoring Update

By April 30, 2025

Bottom Line

The overnight rainfall primarily affected areas north of the Bridgeport and Eagle Mountain watersheds, with some precipitation in the headwaters. The next round of storms this morning has dropped 2″-4″ in the Bridgeport and Eagle Mountain Watersheds. Lake Bridgeport and Richland-Chambers are above conservation and flood discharges are on-going. Lake Bridgeport discharges have been increased this morning in response to the rainfall.

Projections

TRWD staff is working to manage the water on the ground. We do not have projections at this time. We will provide projections as soon as we are able.

*Projections are subject to change and are based on past precipitation.

Looking Forward

Expect a rainy day today with around 2″ of rain forecast for all TRWD watersheds. Rain is predicted for Bridgeport and Eagle Mountain in the morning, the floodway in the afternoon, and East Texas in the late afternoon and evening. Please Refer to Graphic 1 for NWS guidance on timing.  There is a chance for severe weather with this system. Please stay weather aware and follow our partners at the National Weather Service (NWS) and the River Forecast Center (RFC) for the latest information regarding weather and river conditions, respectively.

A cold front will pass through later in the week, bringing another chance of rain on Thursday night and Friday. Predicted rainfall amounts are less than 1″, though localized heavy rain is possible. See Graphic 2 for NWS Guidance.

TRWD has staff monitoring conditions 24/7 and available to answer the flood line if there are any questions or concerns.

Next Update:  The next update will be Monday.  TRWD has staff monitoring conditions 24/7 and available to answer the flood line if there are any questions or concerns.
