The Lake Bridgeport dam was constructed between 1929 and 1931. The lake offers a great escape from the crowds of an urban setting with its gorgeous cliffs and pristine water. It is a popular spot for fishing, recreational boating and other water sports.

Lake Bridgeport Details

Lake Bridgeport is operated by the Tarrant Regional Water District, a political subdivision of the State of Texas created in 1924. TRWD is one of the largest raw water suppliers in the state, providing water to more than 30 wholesale customers. Lake Bridgeport is part of TRWD’s water supply system and connects to Eagle Mountain Lake through the West Fork of the Trinity River. The lake is also a popular fishing and boating destination.

Lake Bridgeport is located in Wise and Jack Counties, upstream from Eagle Mountain Lake on the West Fork of the Trinity River.

LAKE HOURS
Lake Bridgeport is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When accessing the water after dark, all watercraft must follow rules regarding proper lighting as outlined in the TRWD General Ordinance and Water Safety Act.
