TRWD Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Trinity Lighted Loop

By October 27, 2026

TRWD is developing plans for enhanced lighting along a 3.3-mile section of the Trinity Trails and is inviting trail users to share their thoughts as the project takes shape.

The proposed Trinity Lighted Loop would add enhanced lighting along the paved trail loop stretching from the Phyllis J. Tilley Pedestrian Bridge on the north end to the Mistletoe Heights Pedestrian Bridge on the south end. The project is intended to provide greater safety and efficiency for pedestrians, cyclists, and other trail users traveling the area during dusk and dawn hours.

From public feedback to project planning

The Trinity Lighted Loop grew directly from feedback received during the development of TRWD’s Recreation Master Plan.

During that process, trail users identified safety, security, and continued trail development among their priorities for the Trinity Trails. The Lighted Loop addresses two of the Recreation Master Plan’s strategic initiatives: “Safety & Security Enhancements” and “Continue Trail Development and Key Connections.”

That initial feedback helped identify what trail users wanted to see along the Trinity Trails. Now, TRWD wants to hear from the community as plans for the Trinity Lighted Loop take shape.

This next opportunity for input will help TRWD understand whether the proposed project addresses the needs expressed during the Recreation Master Plan process while also giving trail users an opportunity to share general feedback about the plans.

Where the project stands

TRWD has received preliminary plans for the Trinity Lighted Loop from project consultants and is currently reviewing them.

Final plans are expected to be completed in January 2027. The project would then move into the bidding process for construction, with the construction phase anticipated to begin in spring 2027.
