Board Election Information

TRWD’s next at-large election will be held on May 3, 2025, to fill three, 4-year positions on its Board of Directors. Elections are held every two years.

Filing Period for a Place on the Ballot for May 3, 2025 General Election

 

The Texas Election Code sets the filing deadline for a place on the ballot of an election on a uniform election date at the 78th day before Election Day (Section 143.007(c)) and provides that the first day to file an application is 30th day before the filing deadline (Section 143.007(a)).

The filing deadline/78th day before the May 3rd election date is Friday, February 14, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.

The first day for filing an application is the 30th day preceding, which is Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

During the designated filing period, applications may be received at 800 East Northside Drive Fort Worth, Texas 76102 or emailed to elections@trwd.com

Applicant Eligibility Requirements

 

In addition to the general eligibility requirements for public office provided in section 141.001 of the Texas Elections Code, applicants for the TRWD Board must meet the following qualifications, as provided under Texas Water Code section 51.072:

  • Resident of Texas

  • Own land subject to taxation by TRWD or be a qualified voter* in the district

  • Have reached an age of 18

    • *as that term is defined in section 11.002 of the Texas Elections Code

*Conservation Level: The permitted level of water an entity is allowed to hold in a lake. Any amount above the conservation level is used for the temporary storage of flood waters and must be released downstream.
