Every year, before TRWD’s Board of Directors vote on next year’s tax rate, residents get a direct opportunity to weigh in. That opportunity is the public hearing, and this year, it’s coming up on September 10th.
Why the hearing matters
TRWD’s tax rate helps fund flood protection infrastructure, like the levees and floodway system that protect our community, along with recreation assets such as the Trinity Trails. Before any final decision is made, the Board of Directors holds a public hearing so residents can ask questions, raise concerns, or simply learn more about the proposed rate. It’s the formal opportunity for the public to speak directly to the board before a vote, a chance to be heard.

How to participate
Whether you can make it in person or prefer to join from home, there are a couple of ways to take part:
· In person: Head to the TRWD Administration Building for the hearing.
· Online or Recording: Watch live or catch the recording afterward through the link above.
In-person is your chance to speak directly to the Board of Directors about the proposed tax rate before they vote at the September board meeting.
Don’t miss it
