For more than five decades, Alan Thomas has been a mainstay at the Tarrant Regional Water District in Fort Worth.
His extraordinary 51-year career, which began when he was 17 years old, saw him progress from a general maintenance worker to Deputy General Manager of one of the state’s largest raw water providers.
At TRWD’s December 16 Board Meeting, the Board of Directors honored Thomas with a resolution recognizing his decades of service to the organization and the 2.5 million people in 11 North Texas counties that the District provides services to every day.
“I really appreciate the recognition,” Thomas said. “I’ve been here a long time and loved every minute of it.” He also credits the talented TRWD team, forward-thinking board members, and the many consultants he has worked with over the years.
During his tenure, Thomas played a pivotal role in shaping some of the region’s most impactful water supply projects, including Richland-Chambers Reservoir, Benbrook Pipeline, Eagle Mountain Connection Pipeline, and the Integrated Pipeline Project in partnership with the City of Dallas.
