This Texas Arbor Day, we’re bringing our community together to plant trees and enhance our trail system. Responding to our Recreation Master Plan findings, we’re adding shade coverage where trail users need it most.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or first-time tree planter, we welcome you to dig in and make a lasting impact on our natural spaces.

What We’re Planting:
3–4 volunteers will work together to plant each tree, creating immediate impact and lasting shade for trail users. Tree species include:
Take Home a Sapling:
Every volunteer receives a sapling (donated by Master Gardeners) to plant at home and continue the environmental impact.
Volunteers may receive (while supplies last):
• Sunglasses
• Tote bags
• Mixed Texas native wildlife seeds
• Decorative birdhouse
Age requirements: All ages welcome! Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Liability & Photo Release: Forms will be available at check-in. By participating, you consent to being photographed for TRWD promotional purposes.
Weather: This is a rain or shine event. Dress appropriately for outdoor conditions.

Carpooling is encouraged. Main parking at 101 Brookside Drive. Enter through the gate and park on the grass. Walk under the bridge to the planting location & check-in (see map below).
Overflow parking at 4623 White Settlement Road. Enter through the gate & park on the grass. Walk northeast up the trail to the planting location & check-in (see map below).
This tree-planting event is made possible by TRWD Recreation & the City of Fort Worth Forestry Department. These trees directly address community feedback from our Recreation Master Plan, where trail users expressed a strong desire for more shade coverage along our trails.
