At TRWD, we take continuous improvement seriously and are always looking for additional ways to provide a clean, safe water supply to the 2.5 million people we serve in 11 North Texas Counties every day.
TRWD Resident Engineer Shelly Hattan recently participated in a collaborative article with Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) and Plus Six Engineering that highlighted the installation of more than eight miles of 84-inch diameter transmission pipelines beneath sensitive and critical locations along the path of the Integrated Pipeline Project (IPL).
The article, Pipeline Installation Strategies for Large Diameter Water Transmission Tunnels, was co-authored by Kalyani Vemulapalli of Plus Six Engineering and recently featured in the American Public Works Association Journal.
TRWD and DWU are working together to build a shared 150-mile water transmission pipeline that will bring additional water supplies to two of the region’s largest water suppliers in the rapidly growing Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Hattan’s expertise and dedication to her profession is a great example of how TRWD’s engineers are shaping the future of water infrastructure. We’re proud to see our team’s hard work recognized — and even prouder of the impact they make every day.
