Activity upon this lake is governed by the General Ordinance of the Tarrant Regional Water District, in addition to all applicable state and federal regulations pertaining to inland waterways.

Cedar Creek Lake

Cedar Creek Lake is located in Henderson and Kaufman Counties. The 32,873 acre lake is a popular destination for people living in the DFW metroplex who want to get away and enjoy some time on the water.

A majority of the shoreline is privately owned however Tom Finley Park has been established by TRWD as a day use waterfront park that is open to the public. The park is managed by Friends of Cedar Creek Lake and a small admission charge is required to access the park. Tom Finley Park includes an ADA boat ramp, picnic areas, a swimming area and great fishing opportunities. Plus every year from Thanksgiving to New Years, the park becomes a “Christmas Island” filled with wonderful light displays.

Lake Location

Cedar Creek Lake is nestled in the woodlands of East Texas about 80 miles southeast of Fort Worth in Kaufman and Henderson counties.

Lake Hours

Cedar Creek Lake is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When accessing the water after dark, all watercraft must follow rules regarding proper lighting as outlined in the TRWD General Ordinance & TX Safe Boating Act.
