Watershed Program Temporary Intern

Position summary:

The Watershed Program Intern will directly assist program staff with a wide range of projects related to watershed education and outreach, planning, and administrative tasks. The intern will gain exposure to water resource protection through daily experiences in the professional environment.


Qualifications required:

  • Three years of completed college coursework and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.


Qualifications desired:

  • Three or more years of completed college coursework; and working towards a teaching certification or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Familiarity with ESRI ArcMap is a plus.


Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Support program events by maintaining contact databases and calendars; developing information for event flyers, social media posts and other public communication; and delivery of educational information.
  • Assist in preparation of reports and presentations on program activities.
  • Assist the Watershed Program staff with daily administrative tasks, including but not limited to sorting, scanning, and filing.
  • Attend on- and off-site meetings as necessary.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage time wisely. Ability and willingness to work after hours and on weekends.
