Water Resources Engineering Student Assistant

Salary: $18.80 – $28.23 per hour


Location:  Fort Worth, TX



Position Summary:

As a summer-seasonal Water Resources Engineering Student Assistant, you will join the engineering team to solve challenges. Our solutions enrich our communities and improve the quality of life. Student Assistants can have the opportunity to work on projects across transmission hydraulics, water supply planning, and H&H. You may calculate, study, design, or review solutions to our water resources, hydraulic, energy, water infrastructure, or construction management challenges.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Solving engineering problems

· Field investigations

· Review and documentation of pipeline hydraulic information

· Participate in hydraulic modeling of transmission systems

· Development of pipeline operations tools

· Assisting with water contract management

· Participating with field visits related to TRWD locations and construction sites

· Participating in system and/or flood monitoring

· Collecting and organizing engineering data into usable formats

· Reviewing project reports

· GIS analysis

· Communicating solutions to others through emails or memos

· Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts

· Perform other duties as required


Required Experience/Skills:

· Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Desired Experience/Skills:

· Completed fluid mechanics or hydrology related courses

· Intern experience in water resources engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, GIS or surveying related fields

· Experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software


Required Education/Certification/License:

· High School Diploma

· Enrolled in an ABET/EAC accredited engineering program

· Valid Texas driver’s license
