Position Summary:
Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is seeking lifeguards for the summer season to supervise guests at the following Panther Island Pavilion (PIP) Events: Fort Worth’s Fourth and Rockin’ the River. Lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining PIP and enforcing the water rules and regulations as well as ensuring the safety of our guests by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Applicant must be willing to work the following dates:
Fort Worth’s Fourth (mandatory) 2PM-9PM*
Tuesday, July 4, 2023
Rockin’ the River – Thursdays 4PM-8:45PM*
July: 13, 20, 27
August: 3, 10
*Final schedule will be determined based on event needs and number of lifeguards hired.
Essential and other important duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Enforce rules and regulations.
- Prevent accidents and perform rescues.
- Perform appropriate first aid when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of physical and mental fitness.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining Panther Island Pavilion.
- Answer questions pertaining to the use of the water.
- Have a current Open Water Certification through August 11, 2023 or participate in one of the Open Water Certification Classes* Date and time is TBA.
- Must be able to work outdoors in the Texas heat.
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old and have the following certifications valid through August 11, 2023:
- American Red Cross: Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED
- American Red Cross: Waterfront Skills
In order for TRWD to pay the fee for the Waterfront Skills class, you must be willing to work the events listed above.
*The Open Water Certification Class teaches lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in nonsurf, open-water areas found at public parks, resorts, summer camps and campgrounds. Candidate must have a current American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED to obtain the Open Water Certificate. This certification is good for 2 years.
Only those lifeguards who are hired by TRWD and willing to work the dates listed above will receive the Open Water Certification Class at no charge.
