Birders rejoyce! Our wetlands at Richland Chambers are home to some of the best bird watching in Texas. They’re home to migrating and wintering waterfowl, wading birds and shore birds. While the bird counts vary throughout the year, it has been reported that they have soared as high as 30,000 and Richland Creek WMA boasts 240 identified species (that’s 20 more than anywhere else in the state).
Eagle Mountain Park is another great location for birdwatching and our lakes are also home to many different species.
