Systems Analyst

Position summary:

The Systems Analyst will provide Tier II support for Infrastructure and Applications. This role is essential to keeping IS infrastructure secure, operational, and stable. This role is also responsible for the configuration, implementation, maintenance, and support of custom developed and third-party applications. The Systems Analyst must have an extensive skillset as their area of responsibility is broad. The Systems Analyst ensures systems hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and processes that are in alignment with the strategic plan of the District.

Qualifications required:

  • Two years of experience in a Systems Analyst role
    • Maintaining core enterprise technologies of such as OS, hardware, security, and data retention
    • Monitor and responding to hardware and application alerts
    • Providing end user support in a Virtual Desktop Environment
  • Two years of experience supporting enterprise-class applications that run on the Microsoft Windows platform
  • Experience with administration and support of IIS 7 and higher
  • Experience using PowerShell scripting for automation
  • Experience with administration of VMware
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Driver License

Qualifications desired:

  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues
  • Experience with Video/Teleconferencing solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server with a knowledge of basic query syntax and relational database theory
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting web applications coded in ASP.NET
  • Knowledge of ITIL or COBIT frameworks

  • Management of enterprise antivirus solution
  • Management of network monitoring solution
  • Manage the application portfolio to ensure reliability and performance over time through industry best practices including event management, patch management, and capacity planning
  • Work in tandem with the development and support teams to plan, schedule and control the deployment of software releases from the non-production to production environments in accordance with established change management practices
  • Management of patch deployment solution
  • Management of data retention software
  • Provide advanced support for server and network infrastructure
  • Support Video/Teleconferencing solutions
